Pot noodle pulled over allergy fears

A popular brand of instant noodles has been urgently recalled over fears an undeclared allergen could cause an allergic reaction.

Food Standards Australia issued a recall notice on Tuesday for Mr Lees Noodles Henking Coconut Chicken Laksa 65g.

The food authority found the package noodles did not declare the presence of milk, which could lead to a reaction.

“Consumers who have a milk allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed,” it said.

“Consumers should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.

“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”

The noodles had been available for sale nationally, as well as in vending machines in the ACT and NSW.

The packages were also sold at Harris Farm and independent grocery stores in both NSW and QLD.

Noodle packages affected by the recall notice are marked with a best before date of June 14, 2024.

According to their website, Mr Lees uses “high quality ingredients made right here in Australia”.

The Australian-owned company boasts offerings of “real noodles” with “definitely no nasties”.
