Popeyes Just Launched a New Game-Changing Product That's Heading to Stores, and Fans are Saying 'Thank God'

As someone who used to work at Popeyes, I’ve eaten my fair share of their gloriously crunchy chicken. Give me a butterfly shrimp tackle box with spicy tenders, fries, red beans and rice, all topped off by a strawberry lemonade, and I’m a happy camper. Until the inevitable moment, I realize they forgot the sauce, that is. It’s a phenomenon not unique to Popeyes, but it always stings, no matter how often it happens. We showed up for the chicken, but it’s the sauce that makes the meal. It enhances the experience and allows us to create our own flavor adventure, whether we want sweet heat, blackened ranch, or buffalo sauce.

Common as it is, we’ve come to accept that we’ll just have to stockpile sauces at home just in case we get to the bottom of the bag and realize it’s not there. The only downside to that is that you’ve got to build up your cache over time to have enough sauce to spare. That leaves you with two options: ask for extra when you place your order or grab one of the new full-sized Popeyes Sauces coming to stores near you on March 15.

That’s right, my chicken-eating companions. According to Instagrammer @markie_devo, bottled Popeyes sauces are set to hit stores this week, and shoppers are going bananas. The initial lineup includes three of the most popular sauces—Blackened Ranch, Sweet Heat and Mardi Gras Mustard. Blackened Ranch and Sweet Heat are slated to pop up at retailers like Walmart, Albertsons, Kroger and Amazon, while the Mardi Gras Mustard is scheduled to ship out later this spring.

The saucy news didn’t take long to garner plenty of reactions from fans, with most saying, “FINALLY.” In addition to throwing the equivalent of a party in the comments, shoppers sounded off with their favorite, which appears to be the Blackened Ranch. Unfortunately for us barbecue lovers out there, we’ll have to wait and see if there are any new flavors in the pipeline next. At least now we don’t have to worry about them forgetting the sauce. Just make sure you pick up a box of Dropps in case you spill some sauce.
