All the planning involved in Harry and Meghan's Morocco royal tour

Following on from their South Pacific tour last Autumn, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently on their second official overseas visit together, this time venturing through Morroco.

From the accommodation to public engagements and the travel in between, the detail that goes into planning royal tours is very meticulous.

Staff usually do research of each place on the itinerary in advance so the couple will know who they are meeting and what they’ll be doing.

And this is the last form of air travel that Meghan can do until the birth of her and Harry’s first child in April or May, so that adds an extra layer of logistics to the trip.

Given Meghan’s close due date, royal correspondent Omid Scobie told Yahoo UK‘s ‘The Royal Box‘ that it’s likely that a doctor will be travelling with the couple to Morocco.

“Kensington Palace would have looked into medical centres and the nearest options to wherever they’re staying,” he said.

“I believe they’re going to be staying at one of the Government residences there but they’ll probably also – and this hasn’t been confirmed – but I would imagine they’ll be travelling with a doctor too, who we won’t see, but they’ll be there.”

And it’s since been confirmed by Kensington Palace that ‘medical provision’ has been made for Meghan.

It’s not unusual for a member of the royal family to travel abroad with medical staff. The Queen is often accompanied by a royal navy doctor when travelling overseas.

The couple also travels with an entourage of nine for the trip, including three press staff, two assistant private secretaries and a hairdresser.

Harry and Meghan’s trip revolved around supporting education, youth and sport as they visited the Moroccan Royal Federation of Equestrian Sports and ‘Education for All’ boarding house in the Atlas Mountains.
