Ree Drummond and her Oklahoma ranchSpring has sprung at Ree Drummond’s ranch.
The Food Network star, 56, shared a video of her garden in Pawhuska, Okla., on Sunday, March 2.
“Ready to do this again!” the mother of five wrote over the video, which panned across several gardening beds and showed off a beautiful sunset in the background. In the caption, Drummond wrote, “It’s been a long, dahlia-less winter 😂”
Her garden is comprised of a dozen beds full of different labeled plants. Colorful flower buds, prickly bundles of herbs and stakes supporting leafy produce fill the garden. The lush garden looks over a pond and rolling hills of the ranch the cookbook author and her husband Ladd own and tend to.
Followers filled Drummond’s comment section with praise for the gardening. “Enjoy The Breathtaking View, Just Gorgeous! 🙏❤️,” one person wrote. Other people commented on the lineage of gardening: “Yep and one day you can show your sweet granddaughter how to plant a garden 👏❤️,” another commenter said.
In April 2024 — the same month Drummond unveiled the new house she and her husband, Ladd Drummond, built on their ranch — she showed off her homegrown dahlias and revealed why they had special meaning.
In a Pioneer Woman blog post, she wrote that it was the first time in 10 years she had taken up gardening again. And the first time she grew dahlias was in 2004, when she was pregnant with her youngest son, Todd.
“My mother-in-law Nan helped me get an old stone-lined garden cleaned out and tilled, and we even put up a pergola and a wooden swing. The kids were tiny…and I had not started blogging yet. But I loved flowers even then, and I was ready to go for it,” she said.
While she revealed she's always been “deeply in love” with dahlias, she didn’t have much time to keep up with gardening then.
“I was just a tad busy in those days, haha, and totally distracted my motherhood and life, so I didn't tend to the dahlias like I needed to. So it was a short-lived love affair, and I never planted them again...until this year!” she wrote.
Drummond became a grandmother in December when her oldest daughter, Alex Drummond Scott, welcomed her first baby: Sofia Marie.
