Peter Siddle’s ‘big fat vegan wedding’

When Aussie cricket star Peter Siddle and his leading lady Anna Weatherlake tied the knot at the weekend, they did so in their own, very unique style.

The theme for the big day was vegan, with everything from the menu to Anna's dress, being completely animal friendly and free.

Even the guests were circulating photos on social media with the hashtag #bigfatveganwedding, after filling up on a feast of dishes including red lentil-filled Turkish dumplings and roasted hummus with stewed chickpeas and celery.

There was even a vegan wedding cake made up of tiny vegan dessert cups!

Anna, a “health and plant-based nutrition coach”, looked stunning for the occasion in a custom made three-piece gown by local Australian boutique One Day Bridal.

Made entirely out of "vegan friendly" material, it featured a low back and dramatic train. But it didn’t last the entire ceremony! She later swapped her skirt out for a more slimline one, before changing into a plunging gold mini dress for the party.

Anna’s four bridesmaids were all dressed in white for the occasion, and the bridal party was nicely rounded out with the addition of three pet dogs, who walked the newlywed couple back down the aisle.

But in case you were wondering, while all the food was healthy, there was plenty booze available on the night!
