They also have an undeniable beauty in their "bone structure" and "butter voices." Who are we kidding?

On Dec. 12, the pair were joined together for Variety's Actors on Actors to discuss their work in their most recent projects, fears of singing live on camera, and their relationship to Broadway.

Angelina portrayed the opera singer Maria Callas in Pablo Larraín's Maria.

Cynthia portrayed the Wicked Witch, Elphaba, in Jon Chu's film adaptation of Wicked.

The actors delved into the similarities of their characters: women with incredible resolve who are burdened by the cruel world around them and express themselves through their voice — through song.

Cynthia shared how her experience filming a musical film differed from her time on Broadway. "I think with Broadway, you have people who are only so close then you have to perform to the back of the house," she said. "You want them to read everything. You want them to read the emotions," explaining that singing on camera was a new form to adapt.

When Angelina discussed learning to sing opera, she said, "Sometimes people keep quoting me because I made — not the mistake — I admitted it was like a therapy. It was the finding my voice and letting my voice out; that was really hard for me. I was really emotional about it.

Funny enough, after the interview was published on Variety's YouTube channel, fans said they loved Angelina and Cynthia's voices and presence so much that some have considered just hearing them talk together like therapy.
