Woolies fans lose their minds over the return of Burger Man chips: 'Buying a carton'
Shoppers could hardly contain their excitement when rumours began to circulate that discontinued Burger Man Saucee snacks will soon be making a return to Woolworths.
A lunchbox staple in the 1990s and 2000s, the chips were discontinued in 2016.
The cult favourites consisted of crispy puffed “burger men” sprinkled with savoury burger-flavoured seasoning.
Social media was abuzz following the news of the return of Burger Man crisps, with consumers already planning to stock up on packets of them.

“A friend of mine works in the factory. They have been making them for a while now so it shouldn't be long,” wrote one shopper in the comments.
Meanwhile, fans of the savoury chips have rallied together to petition for their return.

Snack Brands confirms the return of Burger Man Saucee chips to Woolworths
Mark Fryday, Innovation and Marketing Director of Oceania Snack Brands, who manufacture Burger Man chips, told Yahoo News Australia he "can confirm that Snack Brands is bringing back the much-loved Burger Man chips very soon."
"At this stage we can’t share an official launch date as this is still being finalised, but we will be communicating more widely over the next week," said Mr Fryday.
"We are thrilled to see there is so much excitement for its launch and can’t wait to let Burger Man fans know when they can purchase it from Woolworths to enjoy all over again."
Woolworths also confirmed to Yahoo Lifestyle that Burger Man Saucee chips will be returning to their stores across the country but were unable to give an exact date.
For now, shoppers will need to continue reminiscing about the nostalgic snacks, like they have been on Facebook.
“Yes, I wanna relive my childhood, hoping for the same exact flavour,” wrote one woman on a popular Facebook page dedicated to Brisbane locals.
"If this rumour is true, I’m buying a carton. Love Burger Man. Was my favourite when I was a kid,” wrote a second.
Meanwhile others pointed out that Burger Man chips were already visible online on the Woolworths app, but they were showing as “unavailable” to purchase.
Fans hope Burger Man recipe remains the same amid changes to Tasty Toobs
Other fans hoped that manufacturers didn’t change the original recipe, like in the case of Tasty Toobs upon their return to Aussie shelves.
“I was bitterly disappointed with the Toobs, so I’m hoping they are close to the original,” wrote one shopper on the Markdown Addicts Australia page.
“I wish they would bring back original Toobs,” wrote a second.
Tasty Toobs returned to Australian shelves in July 2021, after customer demand forced Smith's to bring back the popular snack for a third time.
However, recently shoppers were disappointed to discover their beloved Toobs had changed in flavour and shape, with some claiming they were "half the size."
A spokesperson for Smith's Snackfood Company told Yahoo Lifestyle that the “slight variations” to the new Australian-made Tasty Toobs.
“There is a slight variation between the two – the Australian-made product has a firmer bite and is slightly smaller in size but still has the same great Toobs flavour,” they insisted.
However, the move to Australian-made products only affects NSW and Queenslanders – which is welcome news for all other states.
