"Ladies and gentlemen, please give it up for my friend Paul McCartney," said Cole before welcoming the former Beatle to the stage at the Hollywood Improv in Los Angeles
From Beatle to comedian!
Paul McCartney surprised the crowd at Hollywood Improv in Los Angeles during Deon Cole's comedy show on Sept. 17 and even told a joke of his own â after the Black-ish star alluded to them both smoking marijuana before the set.
"I got high with my friend tonight, and we had a good time. Come here. Ladies and gentlemen, please give it up for my friend Paul McCartney," said Cole, 52, on stage, per video shared to his social media, before welcoming the Wings musician.

"I had to smoke, and that's why this is happening," added Cole, "and y'all motherf---ers did not give no love to me at all tonight."
A crowd member then shouted to the comedian, claiming they did show appreciation for the rest of the performance. Cole clapped back, "Shut the f--- up!"
McCartney, 82, then took his turn on the mic and said, "Iâve just been enjoying seeing you working through this material, and youâre right, some of it bombed."
The crowd laughed, and Cole said he would "rather" bomb in front of a small club rather than a large venue.
He asked McCartney if any of his own performances have ever bombed, and the "Hey Jude" artist recalled lackluster early Beatles performances, telling him, "In the beginning, when we started out, guys used to throw pennies at us."
Cole took to X (formerly Twitter) the following day to share footage of the moment with fans, writing, "My friend Paul came to watch me work on new material last night. We had a blast."
