Yahoo Lifestyle Patrick Schwarzenegger Shares Video Of Tearful Moment When Family Found Out About ‘The White Lotus’ Casting: “Dream Come True”
Patrick Schwarzenegger’s character on The White Lotus may be all about playing it obnoxiously cool, but the actor himself was ecstatic to include his family in a special moment. In a joy- and tear-filled video shared to his Instagram, the Gen V alum captured sister Katherine Schwarzenegger and mother Maria Shriver’s reaction to his casting news.
“This is the moment I found out I booked White Lotus. 🪷” Schwarzenegger began in the caption.

In the clip, the actor can be overheard dancing around the topic and explaining that the news is technically still under wraps. Shriver threw out a guess that his fiancée, the model Abby Champion, was pregnant, prompting Schwarzenegger to let the cat out of the bag: He’s going to Thailand. Naturally, the family shrieked in excitement and quickly descended into a fit of giggles and tears.
“At first, I was told I had to keep It a secret, but my family kept noticing me acting weird. Maria thought Abby and I were pregnant 🤣,” Schwarzenegger wrote. “She might have been happier than I was!! And then I started crying. She did. Katheine did. Was a domino effect. Mind you this was in a restaurant with other people lol”
He continued, “My whole family are huge fans of the show, and would always mess with me saying I needed to find a way to get onto this show. Anyways it’s a special moment when you get to celebrate with people you love. It was one of those dream come true moments for me.”

Schwarzenegger went on to thank creator and writer Mike White, executive producer David Bernad and casting director Meredith Tucker for “taking the chance” on him.
“I hope you all enjoy the show as much as we did. We put a lot of hard work into making It. I’m only a small piece of the pie, and the other actors and actresses on the show are truly brilliant people & actors. Was a masterclass getting to learn from them,” he concluded.
Set in the fictional White Lotus locale in Koh Samui, Thailand, a group of disparate American travelers attempt to find solace — or escape — in a lux wellness retreat removed from technology and the bustle of their daily lives. Schwarzenegger stars as the haughty, sleazy eldest son of a wealthy family whose patriarch and matriarch are portrayed by Jason Isaacs and Parker Posey, respectively. His siblings are played by Sam Nivola and Sarah Catherine Hook.
Previously, Schwarzenegger’s father, The Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger, also showed his support for the project: “I was so pumped to take a break from filming to celebrate @patrickschwarzenegger at the White Lotus Season 3 premiere. What a show! I could claim to be surprised to find out he has a nude scene, but what can I say – the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Don’t miss it this Sunday – trust me,” he posted on Instagram.
