Paris Jackson makes first appearance after reportedly seeking treatment

Paris Jackson returned to the red carpet for the first time this week, nearly one month after it was reported the model was ‘seeking treatment for her emotional health’.

Rocking a satin, beige-coloured floral gown, Michael Jackson’s only daughter smiled for photographers at the Grammys after party held by Republic Records.

The 20-year-old singer attended with her boyfriend, musician Gabriel Glenn.

In January, Paris took a step back from the limelight.

“After a busy year of work engagements that took her all over the globe, Paris decided that she needed to take some time off to reboot, realign and prioritise her physical and emotional health,” a source told People.

“She checked herself into a treatment facility to aid in her wellness plan and is looking forward to coming out of this revitalised and ready to tackle the exciting new projects that await her.”

However, the 20-year-old singer said certain reports about her wellbeing were exaggerated, but confirmed on Instagram, “yes i’ve taken a break from work and social media and my phone because it can be too much sometimes, and everyone deserves a break, but I am happy and healthy and feeling better than ever!”

Paris has been open about her mental health in the past. In 2017, she said she tried to commit suicide multiple times as a teenager.

“It was just self-hatred, low self-esteem, thinking that I couldn’t do anything right, not thinking I was worthy of living anymore,” she told Rolling Stone.

She credited a therapeutic school in Utah with turning her life around.

“It was great for me,” Paris explained. “I’m a completely different person. … Before, I was crazy. I was actually crazy. I was going through a lot of, like, teen angst. And I was also dealing with my depression and my anxiety without any help.”

Paris was first spotted after her treatment two weeks ago, holding hands with Glenn. The two are apparently working on new music together.
