Parents, Tell Us The Thing Your Child Did Or Said That You've Never Told Your Partner About

After the postpartum glow fades and parental leave from work expires, life with a child gets a little more real.

As life picks back up, parents tend to spend more time one-on-one with their child, which inherently means the other parent gets left out of the loop on some things. So I'm wondering, has your kid ever done or said something that you never told your partner about?

Maybe they hit a big milestone without your partner there, like taking their first steps or saying their first word, and you kept it a secret so their other parent could feel the joy of witnessing it for the "first time."

...Or something a little less endearing. Maybe your kid destroyed something of monetary or sentimental value that you hid, replaced, or simply never addressed with the other parent.

Maybe your child told you something kind of nefarious or even hurtful to their other parent — and you thought it best to keep it a secret for everyone's sake.

Maybe there was a scare for the child's safety, but the crisis was averted, and it just conveniently never came up again.

Whatever it was, parents, I want to know: what's something your child did or said that you didn't tell your partner (or the other parent) about?

Let me know in the comments or through this anonymous form if you want to keep it under wraps. We may feature your response in an upcoming BuzzFeed Community post.
