Pamela Anderson Radiates in Makeup-Free Look for the Cover of Her New Cookbook “I Love You ”(Exclusive)
“This book has been a labor of love—from my heart," Anderson says of her plant-based cookbook
Pamela Anderson’s debut cookbook started as a personal project.
I Love You: Recipes from the Heart was originally created as “a housewarming gift for her sons and their girlfriends,” according to a press release. (Anderson, 56, is mom to Brandon Thomas, 27, and Dylan Jagger, 26.) Now fans will get to step into her world on Vancouver Island when the book is released on October 15.
“This book has been a labor of love—from my heart, spilling out to the universe… with all my favorite things from my life of food and whimsy… inspired by my travels but mostly from the island I grew up on, a rainforest that deserves all the glory,” the Baywatch star said in the release.
PEOPLE can exclusively reveal the cover of the new project — a radiant, makeup-free Anderson smiles as she sits on a rustic kitchen table. The cozy scene encompasses the theme of the book: home and comfort.
I Love You was partially shot in her own kitchen, which is described as a “down-to-earth family fairy kingdom.” It celebrates beloved plant-based recipes and her many pastimes, including gardening and design. (Anderson has been a plant-based cook for decades.)
It also includes drawings by the Canadian-American actress herself, along with her notes on how to make homemaking fun through entertaining and gardening tips.
In recent months, Anderson has been embracing her natural side — in and out of the kitchen — most notably when she went makeup free at Paris Fashion Week in September.
"I know I wasn’t making strides toward world peace, but I was making a statement,” Anderson told Vogue in October. “I just thought, ‘I’m doing this for all the girls out there.’ I’ve had stepdaughters in past relationships and my sons have girlfriends, and this was for them."
Ever since, Anderson has become the face of a wider no-makeup movement. "I just don't want to play the game," she told PEOPLE in November. "It felt good to look in the mirror and say, 'I'm OK just like this.'"
I Love You: Recipes from the Heart, released by Voracious (an imprint of Little, Brown and Company), is available for pre-order now.
