What will happen in Season 2 of Palm Royale?

Apple TV+ hasn’t released a logline for the forthcoming season, however author Juliet McDaniel has previously told Parade that the first season of Palm Royale was "definitely more of a prequel to" her book, and that showrunner Abe Sylvia had a vision for the show "that was really focused on sort of everything that happened before" her novel.

In the author's book Mr. and Mrs. American Pie, "Maxine Simmons has just learned that her husband is leaving her for his pregnant, much younger secretary. After a public meltdown of epic proportions, Maxine finds herself exiled to dusty Scottsdale, Arizona. Maxine knows there's only one thing she can do to build herself up again: win the Mrs. American Pie pageant, awarded to the nation's best wife and mother. But there's a catch. To win the crown, Maxine will need to cobble together a family of her own."

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, creator Abe Sylvia said: "I can't say too much about a potential Season 2, but I will say Maxine isn't Maxine if she ever becomes cynical. Maxine's defining trait is her optimism. After what has happened to her, her optimism is severely tested, but she must choose it in order to survive. Her defining comic feature is optimism in the face of anything. It's her can-do American spirit. We just keep testing that can-do spirit with ever increasing things that would destroy a lesser person. So, Maxine will never lose that essential quality."
