Outrage as Bachelorette Elly Miles sends fan favourite home

Passionate fans of The Bachelorette are up in arms after star Elly Miles, 25, sent viewer favourite Adam Todd packing in Wednesday night’s semi-final.

On his hometown date, the handsome geologist treated his lady love to a hands-on surfing lesson and later introduced her to his family via video call.

But the 24-year-old was unlucky when it came to the crunch, with a teary Elly deciding against giving him a rose.

The nurse broke down as she led Adam to the waiting car, sobbing, “Whoever ends up with you is such a lucky person.”

Showing composure and maturity beyond his young age, Adam didn’t have a bad word to say about Elly as he was whisked away from the Bachelorette mansion.

“Elly’s the most beautiful and lovely person I’ve met,” he said.

“I’m always going to care about Elly. I liked Elly. She made me feel really special.”

Country gal Elly will have to choose between remaining suitors Frazer Neate and Joe Woodbury in the highly anticipated grand finale on Thursday night.

Viewers of the show, however, are still coming to terms with Adam’s exit, with many criticising Elly for letting him go.

“Adam is clearly the best and she has rocks in her head for discarding him. Oh well, he can do way better,” tweeted one fan.

“I hope she realises she shouldn’t have sent Adam home,” another added.

Some bade him a fond farewell; “Bye bye Adam, you sweet sweet human.”

Others refused to face reality; “I’m not ready to say goodbye to Adam!”

One fan saw the positive side of the sad situation.

“Don’t be sad, Adam has now been released back into the general population for the rest of us,” they wrote.

And several have already started campaigning for him to become The Bachelor in 2021.

“SHANNON AND ADAM AS JOINT BACHELORS IN 2021,” one tweeted.
