The one word the royal nanny is banned from saying

To us, they’re two of the cutest kids around, but Prince George and Princess Charlotte have probably never even heard that word before.

The five-year-old and three-year-old, who have a nine-month-old baby brother, Prince Louis, are apparently never called ‘kids’ when they’re at home in Kensington Palace.

Their nanny, Maria Borrallo, who is pictured in the background of many of their photos while they’re out in public, is said to be banned from using the word.

“The word kid is banned. It’s a mark of respect for the children as individuals,” expert Louise Heren told The Mirror, of what nannies from Maria’s elite training school, Norland College, are taught.

Maria, who hails from Palencia in Spain, has worked for Prince William and Kate Middleton since 2014 and is said to create a sense of normalcy for the royal children.

“There will be no messing. That’s because Maria will be aware that as they step off planes, holding mum’s hands, smiling and waving to the crowds, there can’t be any crying or terrible twos or tantrums,” Louise previously told The Sun.

“It doesn’t have to be strict. Just because Norland nannies wear the brown uniform, they look quite old-fashioned, that doesn’t mean their message is old-fashioned. It’s no nonsense.”

Norland was established in 1982 and trains some of the most prestigious nannies in the world.

According to their website, all Norland nannies are ‘expert practitioners’ and are ‘taught to adapt’ to their environments and respect how parents want their children cared for.

“The nannies are taught everything from defensive driving to security issues to how to care for a future king or queen,” royal commentator Victoria Murphy previously told ABC News.

Maria is also teaching the royal tots how to speak Spanish, with Kate previously revealing that Prince George could count to 10 in Spanish.
