Olivia Dunne Puts Boyfriend Paul Skenes Through Gymnastics Training: 'Not Very Aerodynamic'

Dunne and Skenes, a pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates, confirmed their relationship in August 2023

Paul Skenes swapped his baseball bat for a balance beam while visiting girlfriend Olivia Dunne at LSU.

The Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher, 22, showed off his gymnastics skills in a fun video Dunne shared on TikTok on Sunday, Oct. 6.

"Rating our newest LSU Gymnastics recruit," she wrote in the first clip of the video, which shows the LSU gymnastics champion — who announced in July she'll return for a fifth year at the university — coyly giggling into the camera before Skenes is revealed as the aforementioned "recruit."

The video goes on to show Skenes attempting multiple gymnastics exercises on the balance beam and flipping into the foam pit. Dunne rated the pitcher's first exercise a six-out-of-ten, critiquing him for being "not very aerodynamic," before adding that he's "having fun though."

The LSU gymnast gave Skenes a score of five for his second try. "A little nervous," she wrote as the MLB All-Star attempted to walk across the balance beam, adding, "Overcame his fear and got on."

Skenes earned an eight-out-of-ten from Dunne for his front flip into the foam pit and then followed it up with a perfect 10-out-of-10 for a gleeful running jump in the next clip. "10/10," Dunne wrote, adding, "So beautiful, love this energy."

The Pirates rookie peaked after his "beautiful" dive into the foam pit, because Dunne gave her boyfriend's next move a measly score of two.

"Can't get out of the foam pit, getting frustrated," Dunne joked.

The couple finished their fun video with a clip of Skenes trying to pull Dunne into the foam pit with him. "8/10," she scored the move, adding, "Tried pulling me in pit, being funny."

Dunne and Skenes started dating as student-athletes at LSU. Eagle-eyed fans noticed that the gymnast was wearing Skenes' jersey at the College World Series in June 2023, prompting rumors of a romance.

Skenes confirmed his relationship with the popular content creator during an interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in August 2023, and they later revealed that they met through mutual friends.

Skenes told the outlet that he and Dunne met when his roommate and best friend at LSU was dating Dunne's roommate, dubbing their meet-cute "a small-world type of thing."
