Yahoo Lifestyle ‘Nobody Wants This’ EPs Erin & Sara Foster Ink Overall Deal With 20th Television
EXCLUSIVE: 20th Television has signed an overall deal with Erin and Sara Foster, the duo behind the studio’s big new comedy hit, Netflix’s Nobody Wants This, and their Fatigue Sisters Productions. Erin is creator, writer and executive producer and Sara is executive producer on the series, starring Kristen Bell and Adam Brody, which topped the streaming rankings in October, quickly earning a Season 2 renewal.
Development on Nobody Wants This began during a three-year pod deal the Fosters had at 20th TV from 2019-22. This marks the sisters and long-time creative collaborators’ return to the studio, a part of Disney Television Studios. Under the new multi-year pact, they will develop, write and executive produce original series through Fatigue Sisters for all linear networks and streamers, with emphasis across the Disney Entertainment Television platforms.

In addition to its strong ratings — generating almost 50M views during its six-week stay in Netflix’s Top 10, including two at #1 — Nobody Wants This has had an outsized pop culture impact, adding “hot rabbi” to TV lore right next to Fleabag‘s “hot priest.” The series also has started to get awards recognition: it was named a TV Program of the Year by AFI Awards and received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Television Series, Musical or Comedy, and a Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Comedy Series.

Erin Foster started her writing career at 20th TV on Ryan Murphy’s The New Normal. She created Nobody Wants This inspired by her own life, including drawing on her and Sara’s experience hosting their weekly The World’s First Podcast. The duo previously created and wrote the mockumentary-style Barely Famous reality show sendup and were behind the 20th TV-produced Fox comedy pilot Daddy Issues, written by Erin Foster who also starred opposite Don Johnson.
The Fosters, who also co-founded the clothing line Favorite Daughter and have raised a venture fund, Oversubscribed Ventures, are repped by 3 Arts, WME and Hansen Jacobson.
