Noah Centineo Boards Thriller ‘Listen’ From Writer-Director Brian Birch; Will Smith Producing

EXCLUSIVE: Amid the second season launch of his Netflix series The Recruit, Noah Centineo has inked a deal to produce and star in Listen, a new thriller that Brian Birch will direct from his original script, in his feature debut, for Will Smith’s Westbrooks Studios, Bound Entertainment, and Centineo’s Arkhum Productions.

Soon to be taken to market, Listen is described as a contained thriller that combines suspense and horror through a uniquely sound-driven mystery.

Smith and Jon Mone will produce on behalf of Westbrook Studios, along with Samuel Yeunju Ha and Helen Shufan Ren on behalf of Bound Entertainment, and Enzo Marc and Centineo under their Arkhum Productions banner. Ryan Shimazaki and Iris K. Shim will executive produce.

Currently, Centineo can be seen leading Netflix’s espionage thriller The Recruit, a series on which he’s also an executive producer, which premiered its second season today. Upcoming, he’ll be seen in A24’s Warfare from Ray Mendoza and Alex Garland, starring alongside Charles Melton, Joseph Quinn, Kit Connor, Will Poulter, and more. The actor broke out with his starring role of Peter Kavinsky in Netflix’s hit YA film trilogy To All The Boys, based on the books by Jenny Han, one that he’s recently reprised in Season 2 of XO, Kitty at the same streamer. Other credits include Dream Scenario, Black Adam, Charlie’s Angels, and Sierra Burgess Is a Loser.

Westbrook is coming off of Bad Boys: Ride Or Die, which grossed over $400 million at the global box office. Other upcoming film projects include I Am Legend 2 starring Smith and Michael B. Jordan at Warner Bros, Fast & Loose with David Leitch’s 87North for Netflix, A Night of the Living Dead sequel written by LaToya Morgan and to be directed by Nikyatu Jusu for Amazon MGM, and Clean Air, which is joint project from Westbrook, NASCAR and the Chainsmokers.

Founded in 2019 by veteran producer and entertainment exec Samuel Yeunju, Bound Entertainment first garnered attention with its work on Apple TV+’s inaugural Korean-language original series, Dr. Brain. Recently, the company completed production on its follow-up, Newtopia, a Korean zombie action comedy series starring K-pop artist Jisoo (of Blackpink fame) and actor Park Jeong-min.
