Nicole Kidman Reveals What She Asked Elton John to Sign for Her
Nicole Kidman is sharing a legendary story about the time she got Elton John's autograph.
But it wasn't just any autograph, as the Babygirl star revealed that John signed a very special memento—something fans predict is probably "worth a fortune" now.
While appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Thursday, Jan. 30, Kidman was asked if she ever approached another celebrity for an autograph, prompting her to bring up the legendary experience she had with the "Rocket Man" singer.
"That was because we bought lyrics," the 57-year-old actress revealed, explaining that she bought the original handwritten copy of the lyrics by John's close collaborator, Bernie Taupin.
"Wow," Colbert, 60, replied, before asking, "Where do you keep those?"
But Kidman wasn't about to spill any secrets, and instead gestured for Colbert to "shh" about where she keeps the coveted item.
"Wow now that’s something to get autographed!" one impressed fan wrote under an Instagram clip from the episode.
"Yeah she shouldn't tell anyone where she keeps then [sic] worth a fortune I bet!😂" someone else added.
Another fan pointed out that John's iconic song was used for the film Moulin Rouge, which famously starred Kidman as Satine.
"I wonder if that’s why she has it…" that same fan wondered.
Additionally, more fans were pleasantly surprised to hear about another autograph Kidman asked for: that of American novelist Philip Roth, who she says signed a copy one of his books for Kidman.
"Phillip Roth! New respect for NK!" someone else applauded in the comments, while praising her for having "Great taste in literature."
