Nicole Kidman makes shock confession proving stars are just like us

The actress also confirmed an exciting Australian project she's working on with the author of Big Little Lies.

Aussie superstar Nicole Kidman fronted the SXSW Sydney stage on Thursday to chat all things movies and dropped a few secrets along the way.

The actress talked about how much she loves working with Big Little Lies author Liane Moriarty, who also penned the book version of another series Nicole stars in, Nine Perfect Strangers.

Nicole's chat primarily focused on talking about projects she worked on as a producer, and didn't touch on her experiences as an actress out of respect for the SAG-AFTRA strikes, which are still ongoing in America.

But it was in this chat that she dropped some exciting news for fans of both herself and Liane – they've teamed up again for another project for Liane's book The Last Anniversary, except this time the series will pay homage to its Australian roots.

"Nobody knows about this yet, but the Last Anniversary starts filming on November 13th,” Nicole said.

“[It's] an Australian project with Australian accents for the world,” she confirmed.

Nicole and Liane now share a close bond after working together, with the actress gushing about the author's work.

"They’re very cinematic, the way she writes characters,” she explained.“She structures them amazingly and they’re conceptual."

"She’s just become a great friend,” she said about her relationship with Liane. "I just really liked her whether we ever worked together again or not. I will still have her in my life.”

Nicole's startling confession

In a rogue moment when talking about low-budget sets, Nicole confirmed she really is human: admitting to having to go bush to go to the toilet when she couldn't locate one.

“I have peed in the bush because there was nothing around and we had very little time and we were losing the light,” she confessed. “So it’s like, go behind the tree. Hey, you got to do it, you’ve got to get the shot.”

That's the true Aussie spirit right there.
