Nicole Kidman 'heartbroken' over devastating loss
Nicole Kidman has been left ‘heartbroken’ over the loss of her mentor and renowned filmmaker Joel Schumacher, who passed away yesterday at the age of 80.
The Australian actress, who worked on films such as Batman Forever and Trespass, with the director, took to her Instagram account to pay tribute to the Hollywood legend.
“I’m heartbroken. Joel was a friend of intelligence, compassion and humour - a director with a twinkle in his eye, a nurturing spirit and many stories to tell. He will be missed,” she said.
The filmmaker’s representative confirmed that he had passed away after a year-long battle with cancer.

Back in 2004 and 2005, the pair were linked after they were spotted out for dinner at an LA restaurant together, with the Daily Mail reporting at the time that they were “giggling and snuggling up to each other like two teenagers”.
Nicole went on to marry Keith Urban in 2006.
The sad news for Nicole comes just days after she celebrated her 53rd birthday on Saturday and Father’s Day on Sunday.

Keith took to his Instagram account o gush over his wife, writing: “WHAT A GIFT JANELLE AND ANTONY KIDMAN BROUGHT INTO THE WORLD ON THIS DAY !!! Happy Birthday Babygirl.”
