Liz Hurley's ex Steve Bing dies at 55
Producer, philanthropist and screenwriter Steve Bing has died at the age of 55.
TMZ reports Steve, who is the father to Elizabeth Hurley's 18-year-old son Damian, died on Monday morning by suicide.
Sources revealed he had been struggling with the "lack of human contact during quarantine", however they stress that it’s unclear if that had anything to do with his reported suicide.
Liz and Steve had a brief relationship following the Bedazzled star’s split from fellow actor Hugh Grant in 2000.
While Steve and Liz share a son together, it’s believed Damian and Steve weren't close and the producer had minimal involvement in his son's life.
At first, Steve denied that he was Damian’s father but a DNA test proved otherwise and he was forced to pay child support.
Steve pursued a career in Hollywood after inheriting $600 million from his grandfather with his first big budget hit as executive producer coming in 2000 with Get Carter.
He also wrote Kangaroo Jack in 2003 and invested $100 million into the Tom Hanks movie Polar Express.
The producer is also father to daughter Kira Kerkorian Bing, whose mother is former pro tennis player Lisa Bonder.
However, Steve was also not close to Kira, with the producer's father Dr Peter Bing trying to prevent both Kira and Damian from being included in the family trust.
