Nicki Minaj Placed Under Arrest In The Netherlands
Nicki Minaj has been placed under arrest in the Netherlands for suspicion of carrying marijuana in her personal belongings while at the airport en route to Manchester for a scheduled performance this evening. Marijuana is legal in the Netherlands, however, flying with the drug is illegal.
The rapper is currently on her “Pink Friday 2” World Tour with her most recent stop in Amsterdam. Multiple times, via social media and video, Minaj denied having broken any laws. She remained calm during the exchanges caught on video and she was compliant. Deadline has reached out to her reps for comment.

Minaj recorded her discussions with local authorities as she questioned the reasons she needed to leave her party and was later told she was under arrest. The singer also shared live updates of the events as they were happening via her official Twitter and Instagram accounts.
“Police said they have to unload all your luggage and search everything,” she was told by the pilot of her jet. When she questioned why, the pilot said a policeman requested it because she filmed him reviewing her possessions.
“They’ve been trying to stop me from coming to every show,” Minaj captioned the video below. “They took my bags before I could see them. Put it on the plane. Now saying they’re waiting on customs. This is what it looks like when ppl are paid big money to try to sabotage a tour after all else failed. Everything they’ve done is illegal.”

In another update, she said the pilot has requested she remove her Instagram post.
“now they said they found weed & that another group of ppl have to come here to weigh the pre-rolls. Keep in mind they took my bags without consent. My security has already advised them those pre-rolls belong to him. Oh yea & the pilot wants me to take my ig post down,” she tweeted.
Her last update was shared three hours ago with Minaj stating, “Now they said I have to go 5 mins away to make a statement about my security to the police precinct.”
Her performance at the Co-Op Live in Manchester has yet to be canceled. The venue alerted fans the concert had been delayed.
