News anchor caught 'cheating' during live video call

While we’ve seen some shockers appear in the background of various video calls and live crosses recently, this one might actually take the cake.

News anchor Alfonso Merlos has apparently been busted cheating on his reality star girlfriend, after a scantily clad woman appeared in the background of his live chat on Spanish YouTube channel Estado de Alarma.

Alfonso has been dating Big Brother Spain star Marta López, however the woman in the video was clearly not her.

After some snooping by eagle-eyed viewers the mystery woman was later identified as a fellow Spanish journalist Alexia Rivas, according to local outlet 20 Minutos.

He was forced to address the situation publicly offering a half-hearted apology, claiming he and Marta were actually no longer seeing each.

“If you think that my attitude has not been correct or that there are things that I have not done well, I have no problem asking for forgiveness, although my goal was not to harm someone else,” he said on The Ana Rosa show.

Alexia seconded that statement claiming they had been seeing each other for three weeks and he had said he was single.

Marta however said they were together at the time, calling her former boyfriend's behaviour "unpleasant" and "shameful".
