Pippa Middleton: ‘My dress fit TOO well’

The Duchess of Cambridge's little sister, Pippa Middleton, has spoken candidly for the first time about the dress that made her a household name.

Before the royal wedding on the 29th April 2011, there wasn’t a whole lot known about Kate Middleton’s little sister, except for the fact that she was Kate's little sister.

However, when she stepped out of the carriage wearing the white Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown, that hugged her in all the right places, everything changed.

She became an instant celebrity, with some even going so far as to say she stole Kate’s thunder on her big day.

Almost three-years on, Pippa has finally spoken about the dress and how it catapulted her into the spotlight.

She revealed she was so nervous she didn’t sleep for two days before the wedding, and as for the dress, she was just “glad it fitted” at the time.

“In retrospect, it fitted a little too well”, she added.

Speaking at a Women in Advertising and Communications dinner in London on February 25, to a 400 strong crowd, the 30-year-old joked, “As I have found out, recognition has its upside, its downside and – you may say – its backside.”

However she also admitted that her life changed forever that day, and that it hasn’t always been easy.
