Speaking with A Current Affair, the 52-year-old former swimmer revealed that she was misdiagnosed with a medical condition that affected her behaviour and ultimately drove her marriage to divorce.

"I was just being an absolute b***h, a cow, angry and irritable for no reason," she said in the interview.

Doctors initially diagnosed her with depression and prescribed her anti-depressants.

Looking for an alternative to the anti-depressant drugs, Lisa sought advice from Dr Libby Weaver, a nutritional biochemist who went on to diagnose her with Rushing Women's Syndrome.

The syndrome is described as the biochemical and emotional effects of constantly being in a rush and the health consequences associated with it.

The condition affects both men and women who suffer from hormone imbalance which can lead to stress, depression and infertility.

“I didn’t want to seem like I was the only cow on earth, but it always felt like that to me.

“I had days where I just felt completely out of control.

“I was angry, irritable, moody, cried for no reason, and wanted to kill the world.”

Lisa, who now takes herbs and hormone supplements to control the condition, publicly apologised to men around Australia for both hers and other women’s behaviour who may suffer from the syndrome.

“On behalf of me and all women in Australia, I want to say sorry to all the guys, cause they cop it, the men cop it, it’s the men that are closest in your life, and ...they don’t even have to do anything, yet they cant do anything right or wrong...in our eyes they’re the worst person in the world,” she said.
