Cameron Diaz wants ‘permission’ to age gracefully

Gangs of New York actress Cameron Diaz has opened up about the process of ageing in a new interview with Oprah Winfrey and admitted how 'crazy' society's obsession with ageing is.

In a sneak peak on the upcoming OWN special, the 41-year-old There's Something About Mary actress admits how easy it is for women to feel like failures because they "don't allow other women to age gracefully."

She continued: "And we don't give ourselves permission to age gracefully."

The author of The Body Book revealed that she also fell victim to the obsession, admitting she regretfully had Botox and it changed her face in a 'weird way.' She also had a nose job after breaking it four times, along with her long struggle with acne through the years.

Cameron explained, "For me I feel like if I - it's almost as if we have failed if we don't remain 25 for the rest of our lives. Like we are failures. It is a personal…failure. Like our fault that at 40 years old that I still don't look like I'm 25."

The actress also jokingly apologizes to Oprah, admitting, "I wasn't able to defy nature."
