Gabi Grecko has broken down in tears during an interview following news she is expecting her first child with husband, Geoffrey Edelsten.

Speaking to A Current Affair, the 26-year-old, who announced her pregnancy via Instagram on Sunday night with an image of a positive pregnancy test and the caption "OMG", has lashed out at claims the announcement is nothing more than a publicity stunt.

“They don’t know what’s going on,” she said, wiping away tears.

“They don't want to help. They don't want to make things better. They just want to attack me and I don't want them to attack my baby.”

Gabi, who says she is three or four weeks along, admits she is 'terrified' and worries that the bullying along with a number of ongoing health problems will affect her pregnancy.

"I want all of those wishes and all of those people out there to be positive towards it because I'm already worried you know. I want things to go right," she added.

With her 72-year-old husband of less than a week, by her side, Gabi addressed the question surrounding the photo of the positive pregnancy test from google images that she used to make the announcement.

Admitting she is usually done up when she takes her selfies, she reveals she 'wasn't looking that great' when she took her test and that's why she used an image from the internet.

However all questions aside, the couple, who have 46-years between them, say they are looking forward to parenthood.

Speaking to Fairfax following the announcement yesterday, the mum-to-be, who has been suffering from morning sickness, says the pair feel blessed.

"Me and Geoff are so happy we feel so blessed he told me before we were even engaged that I was the only woman he'd had ever wanted children with. He cried when we found out."

And as for the sex, Gabi admits she would like a boy which they could call 'Geoffrey The Second'.
