The hilarious moment when Jimmy Fallon realised he dated Nicole Kidman - and blew it!

Nicole Kidman made a hilariously awkward debut on Jimmy Fallon's talk show this week when she recalled how a mutual friend tried to set them up once.

The 40-year-old talk show host was recalling a previous meeting between the pair when the Aussie actress revealed: "I just remember I liked you".

Jimmy appeared completely awestruck by the actress’s bold statement.

She added: "Not now, I'm married. But Rick was like, 'Jimmy wants to meet you and you can go over to his apartment,' and I was single…."

Jimmy quipped: "Wait, what? What are you talking about? Could I have dated Nicole Kidman?"

Nicole recalled: "Well I get there and you're there in a baseball cap, and like — nothing. You wouldn't talk, you didn't say anything."

The comedian countered: "I was nervous! I didn't know this was a thing, I thought it was a movie or something."

The actress explained: "You put a video game on or something and I was like, 'This is so bad.' And you didn't talk at all.

"So after about an hour and a half I thought, 'He has no interest, this is so embarrassing.' So I left, and went, 'Okay, no chemistry. Maybe he's gay!'"

Nicole is now married to country music star Keith Urban, while Jimmy wed wife Nancy Juvonen in 2007.
