Earlier this month, Carrie Underwood revealed that she and husband Mike Fisher are expecting a son, however she has now revealed the unconventional way they heard the news.
The 31-year-old expectant mum, who claims she had an inkling she was having a boy all along, explained that because the doctor's office is "kind of a sterile place", she and her 34-year-old hockey player husband chose not to officially learn of the baby's sex during the ultrasound.
"We got to see all the pictures and everything. It was really cool to see that, but whenever she'd get near ‘those parts’ we would look away," she told ABC News Radio.
The pair instead had the doctor write down the sex of their baby on a slip of paper and put it in an envelope to be revealed later, when they went out for a fancy dinner.
"Just the two of us in a nicer setting, but we both knew. So, that was just confirming our suspicions. We didn't really speak of it before, because we were both just like, 'Whatever. It's all good.' But we knew it was a boy."
The couple have been married since July 2010 and their son will be a first child for both.
