Netflix Drops First Look at Prince Harry's Polo Docu-Series (Including Title and Release Month)
The Duke of Sussex's sporty show will premiere in December
Prince Harry's Netflix series on the world of polo is galloping into queues, soon.
On Sept. 9, the steamer announced that the Duke of Sussex's upcoming documentary series on the equestrian sport will be called POLO and premiere in December.
"POLO is a new documentary series that follows elite global players and offers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the fast-paced world of the sport," Netflix said in a statement shared to X. "From Archewell Productions and Boardwalk Pictures. Premiering this December."
The update came with four still photos, including a picture of three polo players on their horses overlooking a pitch and two athletes wielding mallets to vie for the ball.
Prince Harry, 39, has played polo for decades and it emerged in April that he had a polo-focused show in the works at Netflix. A statement said that the series would "provide viewers unprecedented access to the world of professional polo," and that it was shot primarily at the US Open Polo Championship in Florida.

"Known primarily for its aesthetic and social scene, the series will pull the curtain back on the grit and passion of the sport, capturing players and all it takes to compete at the highest level," the statement said.
Deadline was first to report the news, which further revealed that Prince Harry's wife Meghan Markle was creating a cooking show with Netflix. Two days later, the Duke of Sussex was spotted with a film crew at the National Polo Center in Wellington, Florida.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were both set to serve as executive producers on the polo project, with Miloš Balać (Welcome to Wrexham) as showrunner.
Prince Harry is known to saddle up for charity matches, including a flagship fundraiser for Sentebale, the charity he co-founded with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho in 2006 to help children and young people affected by poverty, inequality and HIV/AIDS in southern Africa. He recently rode at the Royal Salute Polo Challenge in Wellington in April and visited Lagos Polo Club during his trip to Nigeria with Meghan in May.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made the stop to attend a reception supporting Nigeria Unconquered, a charity dedicated to empowering wounded warriors through sports and rehabilitation programs.
Speaking to PEOPLE on the sidelines of the Royal Salute Polo Challenge match, Harry's friend Nacho Figueras said that the Duke of Sussex would bring the same motivated focus to his upcoming Netflix show about polo that he does to Sentebale.
"When I see Prince Harry delve into Sentebale, it makes me want to support him and his other projects even more. I know he will do the same for this series," Figueras told PEOPLE in April.
"I have always wanted to introduce polo to a wider audience," said Figueras, who plays polo around the world, usually with his wife, Delfina Blaquier, and their four children in tow.
"Prince Harry and I have talked about polo for years. The production company is incredible, and Netflix has a huge platform to reach the biggest hearts in the world. I am happy to be involved and think this is a great opportunity for the sport," he added.
Prince Harry and Meghan, 43, signed a multiyear deal with Netflix after stepping back from their royal roles in 2020 and relocating to her home state of California. The New York Times reported that their production hub, later named Archewell Productions, would create documentaries, docuseries, feature films, scripted shows and children's programming for the streamer.
