Nathan Fillion Leaves Fans in Stitches After Sharing Character-Breaking Mishap on 'The Rookie'

Nathan Fillion isn't taking himself too seriously, and neither are his fans.

The Castle alum, 53, recently shared video clips of himself stumbling over his lines while filming an episode of The Rookieand fans watching the post on Instagram were left laughing just as hard as his colleagues were.

In the scene, Fillion's character Officer John Nolan stood next to Officer Celina Juarez (Lisseth Chavez) as he tried to share information about a newly identified suspect with Watch Commander Wade Grey, played by Richard T. Jones.

Unfortunately, Fillion had a hard time spitting out the correct name, first uttering the surname "Capudi" before running through a string of similar-sounding words, leaving his colleagues positively guffawing with laughter.

Eventually, he pulled a notepad out of his pocket with the correct spelling of the name, confirming that "Caputo" was correct.

"We never make mistakes on our show," he joked in the caption of the video. "This is most likely AI generated."

Fans were just as tickled by the trouble as the cast was, with one thanking the series and the actor for sharing the behind-the-scenes look. "Man I needed that! 😂❤️😂❤️😂," they admitted.

"This video just hit me cracking up. I needed to laugh before I go to work. Thank you...," another wrote in part.

Others thought the production team should put some of the errors into the show, arguing that it was "so Nolan" of him.

"Pure gold, I'd watch you mess up any day, sooo Nolan it needs to stay in, it would crack us all up 🤣," one comment read, while another agreed, "I think they should actually put this in! Its so Nolan!"
