Natarsha Belling announces new role after Studio 10 sacking

Natarsha Belling was one of more than 20 people who lost their jobs following budget cuts at Channel Ten in August, but three months later the newsreader has shared her new role.

The 45-year-old, who was with Ten for over 20 years, has shared that she will be moving into the world of podcasting.

"So excited to finally share this amazing news... This is the wonderful new project I've been working on with the incredibly talented team from [Southern Cross Austereo]," Natarsha shared on Instagram.

"Each morning we will cover all the breaking news from across Australia and around the world, with a key focus on business and finance. It's your news on the go - that's convenient, informative and engaging," she added.

Natarsha’s friends, former co-workers and followers were quick to share their support for her new role.

“Brilliant!” Sally Obermeder commented on the post.

“Tarsh - this is the BEST news!! So excited for you!” Jessica Rowe added.

“Already subscribed,” Angela Bishop wrote.

When she departed Channel Ten in August, Natarsha thanked the network for all of the support she received over the last 20 years.

Taking to Instagram, she wrote: "I have been overwhelmed with all the love and support so many of you have shown me over the past four days. To all the wonderful viewers, colleagues, family and friends - thank you for all your beautiful messages - they mean the world to me.

"It’s been an absolute pleasure being part of the Network 10 family for more than 22 years and I want to thank the Network for all the wonderful opportunities I’ve enjoyed over the past two decades. During that time, I’ve worked with some of the very best in the TV business who have inspired me with their skill, passion and dedication.

"2020 has been such a challenging year for so many and it has in many ways reminded us about what truly matters in life.

"I’m sad to leave, but excited about the new chapter ahead. I can’t wait to share with you what’s coming up!"
