Flags featuring motivational words made by young people are being displayed across Lincolnshire.

Over 400 students, aged between nine and 18, across East Lindsey, Boston and South Holland took part in the flag-making workshops.

The aim of the banners is to inspire and engage the community, give voices to young people, and raise awareness for mental health.

The exhibition is now on in Sutton on Sea High Street, The Guildhall in Boston and Ayscoughfee Hall Museum & Gardens in Spalding until the end of February.

The banners will tour cultural centres and be included in events across the region, as part of a countywide initiative.

The Refresh South & East Lincolnshire project features a total of 27 festival flags, with nine representing each area of South Holland, Boston, and East Lindsey.

A group of local councillors who are part of The National Portfolio Organisation (NPO) board said they were "incredibly proud" of the initiative.

"We look forward to seeing the positive impact these artworks will have across south and east Lincolnshire," they added.

Toby Ealden, chief executive of Zest, who ran workshops to make the flags, said: "These flags aren't just artworks. They're declarations, conversations, and challenges to the status quo.

"It's been incredible to see young people from across the region step up, own their voices, and put their ideas out into the world."
