More Than 20,000 Cases of Milk Has Been Recalled—Here's What You Need to Know

This year has been off to a rocky start for a select handful of companies due to product recalls. As we navigate through an era of mass production, recalls are just another factor we as consumers are faced with in the fight to secure the sanctity of our health. And with the cost of groceries steadily on the rise, there’s not much room left to push before shoppers have officially had enough.

Companies like Walmart and Aldi are two of the major players in a recent wave of product recalls, and now it looks as though Horizon Organic Dairy, LLC is joining the ranks. In an announcement posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on January 17, a Class II recall notice has been filed in regards to nearly 20,000 cases of Horizon Organic Aseptic Plain Whole Milk.

The notice cites the potential for premature product spoilage during its shelf life as the reason for the recall, though it should be mentioned that no sicknesses or allergic reactions have been reported in relation to the products in question. Horizon Organic Dairy has provided the following information for consumers to look out for should they have a carton of Horizon Organic Aseptic Plain Whole Milk in their possession:

These 12-pack and single unit 8-ounce products were distributed in Arizona, California and Nevada and have an recall initiation date of December 13, 2024. As of now, neither the FDA or Horizon Organic Dairy have made any comment on how consumers should handle the recalled products. Traditionally, brands will encourage consumers to return said product to its place of purchase for a full refund, or discard it all together. Should you have either of these milk products in your possession, it would be smart not to ingest it, and rather return it and ask for a full refund instead.
