The 28-year-old actor — who portrays Erik Menendez in the Netflix series Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story — has gotten praise for his performance in the Ryan Murphy production.
One of Koch's earliest acting gigs was in 2002, where he starred opposite Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana in the "Ordinary Girl" music video.
Koch was around 14 years old in the video, in which he crosses paths with the fictional pop star as she sings about not being an "ordinary girl" at school now that her identity has been revealed.

As the "ordinary girl" works her way through a crowded classroom to the hallway, she bumps into a studious Koch, who is reading while walking down the hallway with a retro Justin Bieber-style haircut.
The video ends with him connecting with the girl at their lockers, smiling and gazing at each other as the video ends.
The role is a far cry from the troubled murderer Koch is currently known for playing. Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story tells the story of brothers Lyle and Erik Menendez, who killed their parents José and Kitty Menéndez in 1989 and have been serving life sentences in prison since 1996.

"I kind of want to say the murder scene but then I don’t know it was all super intense and scary," he shared.
“Episode five, that was probably the most. That was the one,” he continued.
Koch also revealed that auditioning for Monsters was “scary," as well.
“Nicholas [Alexander Chaves] broke a chair, Ryan Murphy was there, scary," he added.
