Modern Family's Sarah Hyland engaged to former Bachelorette star

Her Modern Family character celebrated her pregnancy in the latest season of the show and now Sarah Hyland has some exciting news of her own to share.

The 28-year-old, who plays Haley Dunphy is the hit TV series, has just got engaged to her 35-year-old former Bachelorette contestant boyfriend, Wells Adams.

Sarah and Wells are currently on a trip of a lifetime to Fiji, with the star showcasing the incredible destination in her Instagram announcement.

“That can’t eat, can’t sleep, reach for the stars, over the fence, world series kind of stuff ✨❤️ @wellsadams,” Sarah captioned the adorable post.

Photos show Wells down on one knee on a beach, while Sarah stands with her hands to her mouth as she looks at her beloved beau.

The next few shots show the pair embracing and the star gives fans a glimpse of her massive engagement ring.

Wells also took to his Instagram page to gush over his now fiancée, writing: “I’ll be Johnny, you be June. But forever. 🎶- Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors.”

The caption accompanied a romantic video of the idyllic proposal, which also included some shots of the pair over the years.

A host of celebrities rushed to congratulate the pair on their engagement on Instagram.

Singer Ashley Tisdale simply said “OMG”, while actress Vanessa Hudgens said: “Lol so freaking adorable”.

Aussie actress Samara Weaving said: “ITS OUT!!! EEEEEYAAAAAASSSSSS!!!!” while newlywed Nick Jonas said: “Congrats”.

Sarah and Wells who appeared on The Bachelorette in the US in 2016, are believed to have met over Twitter in 2016 but made things official in 2017.

E! News called it that an engagement was on the cards, after Wells opened up about their upcoming trip to Fiji at the end of May.

“Last time we went on a tropical vacation, it was a s--t show," he said.

"We got to the wrong island, the hotel was closed, Sarah sliced her foot open. It was a calamity of errors. We need to right the ship.”
