Yahoo Lifestyle Miranda Lambert Shocks Fans With "Velvet Rodeo First"
Miranda Lambert is finishing out her Velvet Rodeo: The Las Vegas Residency on a bright note, after a bit of a bumpy ride. This week, Miranda shocked fans by doing something she's never done before: a gender reveal on stage.
Miranda hosted the special moment for her "best friend slash personal assistant" Cameron Mitchell and her husband, keyboardist, bandleader and vocalist, Danny Mitchell. She revealed their baby's gender during her performance of "Drunk (And I Don't Wanna Go Home)," alongside special guest Natalie Hemby.
The "Mama's Broken Heart" songstress shared the gender reveal clip with fans on Instagram, writing: "We had a Velvet Rodeo first last night y’all!!! A gender reveal for @cameronruthm & @iamdannymitchell’s Tour Baby 🤍😭✨."
As the pink confetti fell, Miranda cheered, "It's a baby girl, y'all!" Of course, fans were quick to congratulate the soon-to-be parents in the comments.
"😭😭😭 congrats cam! Awwwww this is the best! Love yall! 💗💗💗," "wait but really @iamdannymitchell is gonna be the best girl dad!!! 😭 so happy for y’all. @cameronruthm 💕🌸" and "Omg most epic gender reveal ever!!!," fans gushed.
Even a few fellow country music stars jumped in to offer well wishes. "Awwww!!!! I love it!! Congrats Cam!!" and "Sweetest!!!!," Kimberly Schlapman and Karen Fairchild of Little Big Town chimed in. "This is the best!!!!," emerging artist Tigirlily Gold wrote.
This sweet gesture definitely earned Miranda some brownie points after she received some backlash last year for her on-stage behavior.
Lambert has just a handful of shows left in Las Vegas, so we'll be keeping a close eye for more heartfelt moments.
