Three-year-old Martha, who was rescued at 3 months due to a physical injury, and Banks, who's since become a certified Therapy Horse, have both found a place to call home at R&R Ranch Miniature Horse Sanctuary. The mother/daughter duo who run the 32-acre wooded sanctuary are devoted to bringing public awareness about the miniature horse breed as they take in horses in need.
Currently, the rescue cares for "two dogs, one cat, two birds, one bunny, 17 miniature horses, one pony, five dwarf miniature horses, two miniature donkeys, and four full-size horses, one full size donkey, and a partridge in a pear tree," according to the site, and the public can visit by booking a tour.
The self-funded non-profit provides lifelong care for the miniature horses, and they accept donations, of which 100% goes to care for mini horses like Martha and Banks.
