Miley Cyrus takes aim at Liam Hemsworth with Grammys performance

Miley Cyrus appeared to take a thinly veiled swipe at her ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth, on Sunday night during the Grammys, with the singer adding a few ad-libbed lines to her song 'Flowers' during a live performance.

The singer seemed to make several references to her divorce, adding in some improvisation.

She sang: "I didn't want to leave you," adding in the line, "But had to," then sang the line, "I didn't want to fight," adding, "But we did."

It wasn't the only ad-libbing Miley did, with the star sending her fans wild by singing, "Started to cry but then I remembered… I just won my first Grammy!"

Miley won two Grammys for her song 'Flowers', one for Record of the Year and the other for Best Solo Pop Performance.

Fans took to social media to share their thoughts, with one fan writing, "The way Miley KEEPS shading Liam, yes girl!"

"Miley renting out the house Liam cheated in to do her music video, winning a Grammy for 'Flowers', AND telling Liam off whilst performing at #theGrammys was NOT on my bingo card. SLAY SLAY SLAY," another fan said.

"Okay Miley Cyrus won that breakup," a third said. "If I were Liam Hemsworth I would feel defeated for very good reason."

"I wanna see Liam’s reaction right now after watching Miley kill it," someone else wrote.

Miley and Liam's split

Miley and Liam broke up in 2019 after less than a year of marriage and ten years of an on-again-off-again relationship.

The singer appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience in 2020, saying getting divorced in the public eye "f***ing sucked".

"What really sucked about it wasn't the fact that me and someone that I loved realised that we don't love each other the way that we used to anymore," she shared. "That's okay. I can accept that. I can't accept the villainizing and just all those stories."

Miley is currently dating musician Max Morando, while Liam is dating model Gabriella Brooks.

Miley snubs dad Billy Ray and siblings in Grammys speech

While giving an acceptance speech after winning Record of the Year, Miley didn't include her father Billy Ray Cyrus, sister Noah or brother Braison.

Gesturing to her table of guests, which included her mother Tish Cyrus, her older sister Brandi Cyrus and her boyfriend Maxx, the singer said, "[Thank you to] my mommy, my sister, my love, my main gays because look how good I look."

She ended her speech saying, "Anyone else?...I don't think I forgot anyone. But I might have forgotten underwear. Bye!"

Miley also didn't reference Billy Ray or Noah in an Instagram post she shared later in the night.
