Metallic Dresses Are Trending on the Emmy Awards 2024 Red Carpet: Kristen Wiig, Ella Purnell and More

After having a major moment on the runways of Blumarine, Carolina Herrera and Coperni, among others, metallics have taken over the red carpet at the 2024 Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Stars including Kristen Wiig, Ella Purnell and Gillian Anderson dabbled in the trend, sporting luminous shades of silver and gold.

Kristen Wiig

Wiig glowed in a woven gold gown by Oscar de la Renta. Her strapless frock featured a jagged hemline and a flared skirt. The “Palm Royale” star accessorized with diamond jewelry, including a necklace and stud earrings. Wiig was dressed by Karla Welch, who also styles stars like Sarah Paulson and Greta Gerwig.

Gillian Anderson

Anderson shone in a textured silver square-neck gown by Emilia Wickstead. The actress completed her look with a metallic clutch and Martin Katz jewelry, including black and white diamond earrings and rings, as well as a white gold bangle.

Christine Baranski

Christine Baranski’s custom Oscar de la Renta column gown featured a draped bodice and a floral print. She added on a cuff bracelet and statement earrings, completing her look with red Roger Vivier heels featuring jeweled buckles. Stylist Christina Ehrlich, who also counts Kelly Clarkson and Allison Williams as clients, curated Baranski’s look.

Ella Purnell

Purnell donned a silver Rabanne gown crafted from the label’s signature chainmail. Her plunging frock featured a halter neckline. She accessorized with diamond De Beers jewelry including bracelets, rings and earrings.

The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by Eugene and Dan Levy, celebrates TV’s best with FX’s “Shōgun” and “The Bear” leading nominations. Jelly Roll is set to perform his song “I Am Not Okay” during the show’s In Memoriam tribute.
