Melissa McCarthy Marks 19 Years of Marriage with 'Best Friend' Ben Falcone: 'Luckiest Gal in the World'
Melissa McCarthy is “grateful every day” for her husband of 19 years
Melissa McCarthy and her husband Ben Falcone are celebrating a special occasion.
McCarthy, 54, posted a tribute Tuesday, Oct. 8 on Instagram to her “best friend” Falcone, 51, marking their 19th anniversary as a happy couple.
Captioning a shot of the duo, the Emmy winner wrote, “19 years ago I became the luckiest gal in the world.”
The photo shows McCarthy and Falcone in quite the get-up: red vests covered in heart pins, white turtleneck tops, retro aviator sunglasses and goofily short hair. Standing in front of a giant heart-shaped sculpture of red balloons and ruby-colored streamers, they have their arms in the air, mugging for the camera.
“I’m grateful every day,” continued McCarthy’s caption, “that I married my best friend and a fellow wig wearer!!!”
McCarthy and Falcone were married on Oct. 8, 2005. They met originally as teenagers before later connecting in a comedy class at improv theater the Groundlings in Los Angeles, and are the proud parents of two daughters, Vivian, 17, and Georgette, 14. The production company they founded in 2013, On the Day Productions, have brought 2014’s Tammy and 2021’s Thunder Force, in which the couple also starred, to the big screen.
The shot from McCarthy’s Instagram post comes from a 2013 feature in The Hollywood Reporter. "We were going to do a glamorous shot, and we just kept going back to, 'We should do some bad characters,'" McCarthy quipped at the time of the heart-themed photo shoot. "We spent so much time with Groundlings that this is our neutral."

The Little Mermaid star and Falcone have throughout their 19-year marriage offered glimpses of their life through social media. McCarthy called her husband “the kindest, funniest and weirdest human I’ve ever met” in another Instagram tribute in 2020 pegged to their 15th anniversary.
Among McCarthy’s other recent Instagram posts is a goofy video of Falcone celebrating his birthday on Aug. 25 and a behind-the-scenes glimpse of her on the set of Only Murders in the Building season 4, on which she guest stars. Her upcoming projects include Paramount+'s limited series about JonBenét Ramsey.
