Why Meghan Markle's ring will always be a one of a kind
Meghan Markle mania has well and truly set in since the announcement of her engagement to Prince Harry.
Everyone wants whatever piece of her style or look they can get their hands on.
It happened with Kate Middleton aka "The Kate Effect" and it's now happening with Meghan.
But one thing you won't be able to replicate is her engagement ring which was custom designed by Prince Harry, at least not from the original jewellery maker.
Stephen Connelly, director of UK jewellery company Cleave and Company, confirmed to The Associated Press there would not be any knock-offs made of the unique ring.
“We’re not going to be making replicas of it," he said. "If you want a ring, then we’ll design you a different one.”
That won't stop other companies trying to make knock-off versions of the ring.
The same thing happened when Prince William and Kate Middleton announced their engagement.
A series of replicas of different price points were made of her sapphire engagement ring which formerly belonged to Princess Diana when she was married to Prince Charles.
Prince Harry designed the ring himself and with the help of Cleave and Company and he made sure to use personal touches to make the ring extra special.
The impressive centre stone comes from Botswana – a place that holds special meaning for the couple after they camped there together for five days early in their relationship.
“The ring is - is obviously yellow gold because that's what - her favourite and the main stone itself I sourced from Botswana,” Harry said in his first interview with Meghan to the BBC.
Prince Harry also made sure to include his mum in Meghan’s ring.
“The little diamonds either side are from my mother's jewellery collection to make sure that she's with us on this - on this crazy journey together,” Harry said.
