Meghan Markle's dad fears being kidnapped in Mexico

Thomas Markle is reportedly worried he’s become a target for kidnappers, after publicly discussing his relationship with his daughter, Meghan Markle.

The 74-year-old, who lives in the Mexican town of San Antonio Del Mar, is believed to have told friends he feels unsafe there, due to Mexico’s high rate of murders and kidnaps.

Thomas moved to Mexico from LA years ago after filing from bankruptcy, and he currently resides in a quiet country home.

However, after recently suffering a heart attack, and his face becoming known worldwide, it’s been claimed the former lighting director is anxious about what might happen to him.

“He’s changed all the locks at home for a much more sophisticated set-up,” a friend of Thomas’ told The Express.

“He’s done all he can to increase security but he’s pretty much stuck there because he can’t afford to move.

“He still doesn’t feel safe and fears his location makes him a sitting duck.”

It comes just weeks after Thomas revealed in an interview that he fears his daughter, Meghan Markle, may never speak to him again following his string of interviews about her marriage to Prince Harry.

“I want to say good luck and God bless to my daughter. I don’t expect to see her or hear back from her — and that’s OK,” he told The Sun.

“All I was doing was saying things I wanted to say. I just want to re-establish the relationship with my daughter.”

Thomas, who dramatically pulled out of the Duchess of Sussex’s May 19th wedding after suffering a heart attack, has also reportedly previously told friends he’s ‘heartbroken’ over the rift between him and the royal couple.

“I haven’t talked to Meghan and Harry for a long time. I think they’re shot of me now,” Thomas allegedly told pals, according to The Mirror.

The Duchess of Sussex’s half-sister, Samantha Markle, then accused Meghan of abandoning their dad in a scathing interview with A Current Affair.

“Like you know if you can afford $75,000 for a dress, you can afford $75,000 to help your dad,” she said.

“You need to step up to the plate and make sure he’s well taken care of.”
