Meghan Markle Wears Princess Diana's Bracelet in Her Oprah Interview
Fans of the Sussexes are eagerly awaiting the couple's conversation with Oprah Winfrey, which is set to air Sunday, March 7 at 8 P.M. eastern on CBS. The broadcast will mark the couple's first primetime interview since stepping away from their positions as senior working royals, and the more details that emerge, the more curious we're all becoming. First, we discovered that the black silk dress by Armani that Meghan chose to wear for the interview carried a special symbolism, and now it's been revealed that she selected an equally symbolic piece of jewelry to finish off her ensemble — a bracelet that once belonged to Prince Harry's mother, Princess Diana.
Beyond the obvious sentimental value of the piece as part of the beloved late princess's collection, this particular bracelet reportedly also has a special meaning for Harry and Meghan. According to People, the diamond bracelet is the same one from which the couple selected stones to create Meghan's engagement ring, and was chosen for this occasion as a way to honor Diana by keeping her close for their historic interview.
It's certainly not the first time Meghan has paid homage to her mother-in-law through her jewelry. On her and Harry's wedding day in 2018, Meghan debuted a stunning aquamarine ring that once belonged to Diana while on their way to their reception at Frogmore House and wore one of Diana's bracelets and a pair of butterfly studs to more than one engagement back when she was a working royal.
While Meghan and Harry may have stepped back from those roles last year, her choice to wear Diana's bracelet in this new interview makes it clear that their feelings for Harry's mother remain just as strong.
