Meghan Markle Shares Her Mood Board, Complete with Quippy Sayings and Possibly a Hint to As Ever’s First Product

Easter eggs everywhere.

If anyone wanted to know what was on Meghan Markle’s mood board—no need to guess anymore!

On February 20, the Duchess of Sussex—who has had a big week this week announcing the relaunch of her lifestyle brand under a new name, As Ever—continues to build her presence on Instagram through posting professional and personal updates. Yesterday’s post is a little bit of both: it includes obvious nods to the likely forthcoming product offerings of the business, including apparent labels for As Ever’s raspberry jam, but also includes personal touches, like a green star at the bottom with her son Prince Archie’s name on it, written in his handwriting. (It’s certainly not Meghan’s perfect calligraphy, which is also visible with aplomb on the mood board.)

Not to be left out, Meghan’s daughter Princess Lilibet has also been featured this week, appearing in a breathtaking shot with her mom walking through lush greenery, the two holding hands, both barefoot and in all white, on the brand's new website.

Meghan is no stranger to a good Easter egg—after all, the new brand name replacing American Riviera Orchard was hidden in plain sight for weeks on her Instagram posts. On the mood board, there are many callbacks to Meghan’s former lifestyle blog The Tig, which she launched in 2014 (two years before she met Prince Harry) and shuttered in 2017, as the two prepared to get engaged. “I love you with all my butt,” a piece of paper labeled with The Tig’s logo at the bottom reads. “I would say heart, but my butt is bigger.”

Other inspirational phrases include “You cannot make everybody happy. You are not a jar of Nutella,” “Not to spoil the ending for you, but everything is going to be okay,” “Stay close to people who feel like sunshine,” and “Happiness looks gorgeous on you.”

Also making the cut is a drawing of what appears to be Meghan, Harry, and a beagle (either the couple’s late dog Guy, whose passing Meghan announced on Instagram on January 7, or Momma Mia); a card that reads, “Love you Meghan. Great menu” with a giant heart and a cat; a pancake with facial features (including bacon as its smile); a sticker representing California State Route 33; numerous photos of gardening inspiration, plus Meghan, food, and Meghan and food over the years; and notes in Meghan’s calligraphy script, including one in the upper left corner of the mood board that reads, “Farm fresh eggs. Carrots two ways. Sweet treats.”

A gift certificate from Chez Panisse Restaurant & Cafe also made the board, as did a black-and-white photo of Meghan and farm-to-table pioneer Alice Waters, who People reported will appear in Meghan’s forthcoming Netflix series debuting next month. Tying it all up with a bow, Chez Panisse is Waters’ restaurant in Berkeley, California.

“From memory lane to the memories I’m making today…” Meghan wrote in the caption.

It appears to confirm what she said herself in her video announcing the brand's relaunch on February 18: that As Ever would be a return to form for Meghan and her days writing and creating for The Tig. Calling As Ever “a brand that I created and poured my heart into,” Meghan added in the caption for the video, “‘As Ever’ means ‘as it’s always been’ or some even say ‘in the same way as always.’ If you’ve followed along since my days of creating The Tig, you’ll know this couldn’t be truer for me.”

“This new chapter is an extension of what has always been my love language, beautifully weaving together everything I cherish—food, gardening, entertaining, thoughtful living, and finding joy in the everyday,” she continued.

Meghan hinted that products could be available along with the release of her Netflix show With Love, Meghan, which premieres on March 4, calling the streaming service a partner in her business in the video released Tuesday.
