Meghan Markle 'bans Prince Harry from drinking alcohol and tea'

He was once dubbed the wild child of the royal family, after he was caught partying in Vegas and drinking in nightclubs.

But it seems marriage is suiting Prince Harry well, as friends are now apparently claiming Meghan Markle has calmed the 34-year-old.

According to reports, the Duchess of Sussex has banned Prince Harry from drinking alcohol and anything with caffeine in it, including tea and coffee.

Instead, she’s been urging Harry to replace his caffeine urges with water, which has apparently left the royal family ‘amazed’ at the difference in the Duke.

“Considering he’s been a pretty brutal drinker since he was a young teenager, it’s quite an achievement,” a source close to the pair told The Express.

“Now his new regime doesn’t make him the most entertaining party guest in the world, but he’s definitely more chilled and relaxed.”

“All she [Meghan] did was show him there’s another way to live and he’s become a huge fan.”

This means the Prince has now dumped the junk food in favour of a healthier diet,

It’s also been reported that Harry has taken up exercise and even joins in on Meghan’s daily yoga sessions.

Rumours first swirled back in April that former Suits star, Meghan, had ordered Prince Harry onto a pre-wedding diet.

The 36-year-old former actress ‘completely changed’ her fiancé’s eating routine, and instead of chowing down on burgers and pizza, the prince converted to healthy juices and avocado.

“Meghan has completely changed Harry’s diet,” a royal insider told the Daily Mail.

“She’s got him juicing and he has lost at least half a stone (3kg), which is a lot for someone as skinny as he is.

“They have bought a top-of-the-range juicer and she has him on fruit and veg smoothies. She’s also weaning him off meat.”

British author and self-confessed Meghan fan Jilly Cooper weighed in on Harry’s weight, saying she didn’t agree with trying to change how your partner looks.

“Harry’s a lovely, hunky man,” Jilly told The Sunday Times.

“You shouldn’t put men on diets. I think that’s awful. I don’t like correcting people.”

“I want him to be our Harry, as well as her Harry. He’s a good boy who desperately needs a loving atmosphere.”

Green juices are a far cry from Harry’s previous diet, which saw him a fan of cigarettes and alcohol.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl revealed in her book Harry: Life, Loss, and Love how the prince completely changed his attitude to health soon after being introduced to Meghan in 2016.

“The American actress, who prides herself on a healthy-eating regimen and is a devotee of daily yoga sessions, is said to have emptied out the contents of Harry’s fridge and cupboards when she moved into his Nottingham Cottage bachelor pad, binning his favorite calorific treats.”

Meghan is a known health-food addict and keen yogi, who has no doubt completely transformed the Kensington Palace pantry.

Back when she had her lifestyle blog, called The Tig, she detailed exactly what her day on a plate looks like.

She usually starts off her day with steel-cut oats, served with fruit, Manuka honey and bee pollen.

The American will also have a mug of hot water and lemon.

Lunch is generally the biggest meal of the day for Meghan, who then has a small dinner in the evenings.

She also sticks to a gluten-free and vegan diet throughout the week but lets loose on the weekends.

“But at the same time, it’s all about balance,” she told Best Health in 2015.

“Because I work out the way I do, I don’t ever want to feel deprived.

“I feel that the second you do that is when you start to binge on things. It’s not a diet; it’s lifestyle eating.”
