Meghan Markle and Prince Harry release official engagement photos

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released their official engagement photos on Thursday afternoon.

The glamorous images were taken by fashion photographer Alexi Lubomirski earlier in the week at Frogmore House, an estate on the Windsor Castle property in Berkshire, outside London.

In the first shot, the couple are seen sitting outside the country house, with the actress seated one step beneath her fiancé. The two are holding hands and leaning their heads toward each other.

Markle is wearing a black embellished Ralph & Russo gown from the brand’s Fall/Winter 2016 couture collection.

The piece, which features a sheer top with gold leaf embellishment attached to a black skirt, is no longer for sale.

The Suits star simply accessorized with her new diamond engagement ring, which is clearly on display.

Meanwhile, Harry is clad in a tailored blue suit.

The second image is a black-and-white portrait that shows Harry wrapping his coat around Markle and the couple holding each other.

Again, the 36-year-old humanitarian’s yellow gold diamond ring — which Harry designed himself after sourcing the stones (one from Botswana and the smaller diamonds from the jewelry of his mother, Princess Diana — is prominent in the shot.

The engagement photos, released on Kensington Palace’s social media accounts, are a hit with fans.

Following the generous reactions, @kensigntonroyal released a candid shot from the photo shoot.

“Thank you so much for all of the wonderful comments following the release of Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle’s engagement photographs,” the caption read.

“The couple are so grateful for the warm and generous messages they have received during such a happy time in their lives.

"As a way to say thank you, they have decided to share this candid photograph from the day of their portrait sittings directly with all of you.”
