Megan Thee Stallion accuses Tory Lanez of harassment in restraining order request
Megan Thee Stallion is seeking a restraining order against Tory Lanez, two years after he was found guilty of shooting the rapper in 2020.
Stallion, whose real name is Megan Pete, filed a request for a temporary restraining order against Lanez (real name: Daystar Peterson) in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday, according to court documents obtained by USA TODAY.
Lanez was convicted in December 2022 of shooting the Grammy-winning rapper during an alleged argument in the Hollywood Hills in July 2020. The Canadian singer-songwriter, who pled not guilty on all counts ahead of his trial, was charged with discharging a firearm with gross negligence; assault with a semiautomatic firearm; and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.
He was sentenced to 10 years in prison in August 2023.

Despite Stallion's legal victory against Lanez, she alleges the singer has orchestrated a "campaign of harassment" against her, including employing a network of bloggers to slander her online.
"Most concerning is that if Ms. Pete is not issued at least (a) civil harassment restraining order, she will be left without any protection for when Mr. Peterson is released from prison," the filing reads. "This possibility alone causes Ms. Pete severe emotional distress and makes her fearful for her life."
Representatives for Lanez were not available for comment at the time of publication.
In her restraining order request, Stallion demands Lanez stay at least 100 yards away from her, as well as the rapper's home, vehicle and place of work. She's also asking the court to order Lanez not to contact her, directly or indirectly, and to stop his alleged online harassment.
Tory Lanez wages 'psychological warfare' against Megan Thee Stallion with alleged online harassment: Attorney
Stallion's attorney Mari Fagel Henderson claims in the rapper's restraining order request that Lanez "continues to terrorize" her through the use of third-party "bloggers," who were allegedly employed by Lanez to "spread defamatory statements about Ms. Pete."
The "Body" emcee's legal team cites various posts from Elizabeth Milagro Cooper, who is known online as Milagro Gramz, as evidence of Lanez's alleged harassment campaign. Stallion filed a lawsuit against Cooper in October, accusing the online personality of cyberstalking, emotional distress and promoting an "altered sexual depiction" by sharing deepfake pornography images of her.
Copper's posts call into question key findings in Lanez's trial, as well as Stallion's credibility, according to screenshots shared in the filing. Per the restraining order request, Stallion amended her lawsuit against Cooper on Dec. 10 to include additional details about the blogger's "conspiratorial relationship" with Lanez, including the allegation that Cooper was paid by Lanez.
"Mr. Peterson is fully aware of the impact of the psychological warfare he has waged against Ms. Pete, yet he continues to deputize his supporters to attack Ms. Pete's character and integrity," the complaint reads. "Years after the criminal trial, Mr. Peterson, by and through his media puppets, continues to reoffend Ms. Pete by forcing her to relive this trauma."

Before Lanez's conviction and sentencing, Judge David Herriford issued a protective order against Lanez in October 2020, followed by a gag order in February 2021, according to the filing. The protective order, which barred Lanez from getting within 100 yards of Stallion, was in effect until 2023.
Stallion is unable to obtain a criminal protective order against Lanez as her relationship with him does not meet the legal criteria for issuing such an order, per the complaint.
A hearing in the case is scheduled for Jan. 9.
