Meet the hottest British royal you've never heard of
With both Prince William and Harry now happily married, royal watchers have had to look elsewhere in order to find their potential prince charming.
And while Princess Margaret’s hunky grandsons, Sam and Arthur Chatto, stole the show at last year’s royal wedding, there’s a new nobleman ready to take his place amongst the ranks.
Alexander Ogilvy is the grandson of the Queen’s cousin, Princess Alexandra, and has gained fans globally for his royal roots and model good looks.
The 22-year-old also boasts a - tiny - chance of becoming king and is 54th in line to the throne, in between his publisher dad James and glamorous sister Flora.
Although Alex maintains a relatively low-profile, thanks to his place in the pecking order, what is known about his personal life is juicy to say the least.
A royal romance
Splitting his time between Scotland and the US, Alex became involved with another royal family of sorts when he dated Michaela Kennedy-Cuomo, the granddaughter of Robert Kennedy and grandniece of JFK for more than a year.
Michaela’s father, Andrew Cuomo is also the Governor of New York and comes from a political pedigree of his own.
The well-heeled pair met at Brown University in 2016, where tuition can set students back more than $100,000 each year.
Michaela’s colourful Instagram detailed their loved-up relationship, which saw the couple enjoy a road trip across the US in summer 2017.
Although there’s no indiction as to when the blue-blooded relationship ended, they haven’t posted together since November of the same year, but they do still regularly trade likes on the platform.
But his relationship status isn’t the only thing keeping Alex busy at Brown. He captains the college’s rugby union team, along with maintaining an impressive 3.8 GPA with a major in both Computer Science and Economics.
The young royal spent a gap year Down Under a Sydney’s elite Scots College in 2016, where he coached rugby and ‘mentored’ students in Indigenous education.
During his stay in the harbour city Alex was snapped getting up to many of the locals’ favourite haunts, from surfing at Bondi to catching a Rabbitoh’s NRL game with Joanna and Phoebe Burgess.
After returning to his native Scotland, he soon jetted off to Brown, in Rhode Island, and has since holidayed in North Korea.
The trip and his relatively anonymous life is indicative of the freedom Alex is allowed thanks to his distance from the throne.
Despite this, he’s managed to level the best of both worlds and can typically be seen joining the rest of the royals on Buckingham Palace’s balcony for Trooping the Colour each June.
For royal watchers eager to edge closer to the throne themselves, Alex, according to my extremely in-depth research, appears to be single.
Move over Meghan — it might be time for another happily ever after.
